AC Chargers

Due to its lower costs (production, installation and operation) these are the more commonly found chargers. This type of charging equipment have a power output ranging from 7 to 22 kW.

Usually featuring compact designs, global charging interface support and weather-proof certification; AC chargers are perfectly suited for both commercial and home charging with limited space, and where cars are expected to park for at least 20 minutes or longer.

DC Chargers

The power that comes from the grid is always AC, and in order for batteries to be charged, power needs to be convereted from AC (source) to DC. This is done by a converter.

DC chargers contain on-board converters that converts AC to DC, therefore power is transferred directly from the charger to the car’s batteries; resulting in significantly faster charging speeds.

In addition, DC installations requires large amount of power from the grid (around 125 A), resulting in overal higher product, instalation and operation costs.

This type of chargers is suitable for the following locations and settings;

Along highways and remote roads
Service centers and commcercial centers
Fleet operators
